Devotions: Satan is Afraid

The enemy superior’s position was based on a lie.

Wainwright’s side had won but he was ignorant of the truth.
He should have been free but he didn’t know it.
He behaved like a POW.
He did not know his side had won so he continued to submit to the demand of his captor even though his captor no longer had power over him.

In the same way we continue to submit to Satan when we do not have to.
Satan is afraid that every believer will discover this truth.
1 John 4:4 “Greater is he that is in you; than he that is in the world.”

Satan has enslaved God's people by hiding the truth.

Devotions: The Commandant's Deception

In time General Mac Arthur led his troops to victory and soldiers—war prisoners were released.
As a prisoner of war, hidden away in Mongolia, General Wainwright was unaware of his country's position.

The enemy superior kept the truth of the war’s end from the General but he knew that they would soon change places.

He knew he would become the captive and Wainwright the captor.

The enemy commandant with military force at his command would be nervous and fearful of the weak, emaciated, dysentery plagued General.

The reason?
The enemy superior’s position was based on a lie.

Devotions:The Big Lie

General Jonathon Wainwright was the only U.S. general captured during World War 2.

General Mac Arthur had left him in the Philippines but soon the destruction all around him forced him to surrender.

Then he and his men were shipped off to POW (Prisoner of War) camps and years of imprisonment.

Devotions:Pray in Faith

You are authorized to do ‘God things” through prayer.
1. Ask Him. James 4:2 says “You have not because you ask not.”
2. Ask the Father in Jesus name Jesus said...whatsoever you ask the Father in my name I will give it to you (John 16:23)
3. Have faith in God’s ability to bring the best result.
4. Thank Him for it.

Remember we take God’s presence and power everywhere we go -
When we remember his presence in our lives and talk to him.
He can go with us to our home, school or when he hang out with our friends.
Try it!

Devotions: God Saved Them!

Father was so worried he called everyone together for prayer.

He asked God to help them somehow, so that they would all have enough food to eat.

After praying he sent one of the boys through the snow to the post office, several miles away.

The lad brought back a letter, and in it was a cheque for one hundred dollars - money the father had lent to a man thirteen years before!

God had saved them!

God wants to help you.

Tell God your needs, your hopes, your dreams.
“Call,” he says, “and I will answer.”

The dsciples left the empty tomb and went back to town.

Then Mary Magdalene was alone at the tomb weeping.
Suddenly there was Jesus but Mary thought he was the gardener.

He just said to her, “Mary.”

Excitedly, she recognised him.

She told everyone, “I’ve seen the Lord.”

Bible Study: The Body is Gone!

Mary Magdalene found Peter and John and told them about the open tomb.
“They have taken Him away and we don’t know where they have put Him,” she said.
So Peter and John raced to the tomb.

All they saw were the burial clothes that had been put on Jesus after His death.
John was sure He had risen.
Jesus had told them about it before.

They left the tomb and went back to town.

Devotion: Easter Friday Diary

Easter Diary: Friday
Jesus friends at the cross saw him die.
Some were rulers too but they did not dare show how they felt.
One of them, Joseph of Arimathea, went to Pilate and asked that Jesus’ body be given to him for burial.
Nicodemus helped him.

Together they wrapped the body in spices and clean linen and laid it in a new tomb that Joseph had cut in the rock.
A heavy rock was rolled across the entrance and they left the garden.

Devotions: What the Brave Captain Did

“Quick, lad!” he shouted, “Down the rope!”
The boy didn’t need to be told twice, in a moment he was over the side of the ship into the last available space in the lifeboat.

“Come on,” shouted the men to the captain, not wanting to leave him behind.

But the captain knew one extra person in the boat would capsize it and they all would drown.
“Push off!” he shouted above the storm.

The sailors and the dirty young boy knew that the captain died so that the boy would be safe.
The boy always remembered what the brave captain did.
Jesus suffered and died for us too
so that our lives could have God’s power.
