The Woman at the Well

While travelling through Samaria, Jesus grew tired and sat beside a well while His disciples went to buy food.

A woman came to the well. Jesus asked for a drink.

“A Jew asking a Samaritan for water?” she asked.

Usually Jews wouldn’t even speak to Samaritans

Jesus told her that He could grant her “living water” that was the Spirit of His love.
He explained that He was the Saviour and told her things about herself that He couldn’t know.

She believed Him and told others in the town about Him.

Jesus stayed there for two days teaching the Samaritans.

C.T. married Priscilla Stewart also a young Irish missionary.

Their unusual love letters always included God.

CT wrote, "It will be no easy life, no life of ease which I offer you, but one of toil and hardship. If I did not know you to be a woman of God I would not dream of asking you."

Sunday School: A Fortune

At the age of 25 C.T. Studd inherited a large fortune -
Twenty nine thousand pounds
He had talked to Hudson Taylor about it and now in this town he took the big step of signing cheques to give away..

C.T. remembered the Bible story of the rich young man who came to Jesus.

That man couldn’t accept Jesus because he thought so much about his money. He wanted money most.

C.T. wasn’t going to make that mistake.

Kids Club:Foreign Devils

CT Studd were considered foreign devils by the Chinese people when they were trying to share God's love among the people. They visited the consul in Chungking and to their surprise they were invited to stay.

The Chinese called the missionaries foreign devils’ because they didn’t understand why C.T. and his friends had come.

The journey by ship to China was a great stress to CT and his companions. Their sleep was continually interrupted by an infestation of rats. The rats were everywhere.

Lazarus came out of the tomb alive when Jesus called him.
Some said, “Jesus is the Son of God.”

This proved to Jesus' friends that Jesus had power to bring people back to life.
Later, when Jesus himself came back to life after three days in the tomb .... they knew .. it could happen.
