Your clue:
Satan is our spiritual enemy trying to trick us in our thinking. He works against friend Jesus. Satan tries to frighten us like a ‘roaring lion.’

That morning Christian was taken to the palace armoury, where he was dressed in armour from head to foot.
“There will be those who who will set upon you and fight with you,” he was told.
Then they gave him food and went a little of the way with him.

After that he found himself in a dark valley and he saw a dreadful figure coming towards him dressed in scales, with dragon’s wings, a mouth like a lion, and feet like a bear.
“I am Prince of the city called Destruction,” he said.
But his real name was Satan.
“I belong to the King of the Heavenly city” said Christian “and I only serve him.”

Bible Study: Two Kinds of Beings

Give this important spiritual truth with you Sunday School, Devotions, Kids Club and Bible Study.

Thinking about things you can’t see
- looking at two kinds of beings

Human Beings
Eg Adam - Eve - us

Humans have flesh bodies.

We can be seen and touched.

We take up space.

Jesus is a spirit but he was born a human baby - a person.

That way people came to see and know him.
He is exactly like God. That’s how we get to know God.

Spirit Beings
God- angels– Satan

Spiritual beings have spiritual bodies.

They cannot be seen or touched or take up space.

A spirit needs a body to live in, if it is to be seen by a human. This is the reason Jesus was born a human.
This is probably why Satan occupied the serpent’s body when talking to Eve.

Devotions:The Clock in the Rock

Share these interesting fact with your students at Kids Club, Sunday School and Bible Study

A man made clock encased in solid rock along with sea shells.
This ‘clock rock’ was found in 1975 at Westport, Washington, USA.
Many people think it takes millions of years for sediments (like mud or sand) to harden into rock.

It happens with the right mixture of ingredients - concrete is formed like this.

That is how this striking example of a clock is part of a rock.

It can form quickly.

Bible Study:World Changes

This knowledge is important for your Sunday School, Bible Study and Devotions group young people.

What’s going on? ……..God Power!

As the water ran off the earth after the flood it made gullies and marks as it slowly ran into the sea. See the Grand Canyon.

The force of water in some places moved rocks and left them standing by themselves perhaps like Ayers Rock.
Fish and shell fossils are often found on mountains because water covered them.
You can see the ripple marks on rocks in valleys where the water has receded in the same way as the sand at the beach.

Bible Study: Psalm 104-After the Flood

Share this important text with your Bible Study, Sunday School and devotions young people.

The Bible tells the ‘after’ story: Psalm 104
Changes:
6 You covered the earth with oceans.
The water was above the mountains.

7 But at your command, the water rushed away.
When you gave your orders like thunder, it hurried away.

8 The mountains rose.
The valleys sank.
The water went to the places you made for it.

9 You set borders for the seas that they cannot cross.
The water will never cover the earth again.

Devotions: Pilgrim's Progress

Help your Sunday School, Bible Study, and Kids Club children to understand the relevance of Christian's hardship at the Hill Difficulty.

Then Christian came to the Hill Difficulty.

It was very steep, and sometimes he climbed on his hands and knees.

The way grew more steep and dangerous.

He often had to stop to read his roll for comfort.

It showed him the way.

He was so relieved to leave the Hill of Difficulty behind.

He could see ahead a very grand Palace, called Beautiful.

Perhaps I can stay the night there, he thought.

But then, he saw two fierce lions.

“Horrors! I shall be killed!” he thought.

Then an attendant called, “Is your faith so small?

Use it. The lions are chained!”

Three shining figures came to him.
The first said, “Peace be with you.
Your sins are forgiven..”; the second gave him new clothes; and the third put the mark of the Cross on his forehead and gave him a roll of directions with a seal on it.

Christian went on but often stopping to read the roll the Shining Ones had given him.

Devotions: Pilgrims Progress

For your Kids Club, Sunday School and Devotions group: the lessons Christian learned on his pilgimage to the Heavenly City.

Pilgrim's Progress
Clue: The path is narrow and straight.

Not many people travel along it.

Mr Interpreter showed him a picture of a man with a gold crown over his head.

“Always remember, he is your guide.”

Then he pointed to the way that Christian needed to go.
The way was a narrow road uphill and there was a cross standing on the top.

Christian thought of how Jesus died for his sins and the burden on his back grew heavier and heavier.

He ran…
Then a wonderful thing happened.

His terrible burden suddenly fell from his back and rolled down into a roadside pit.

Christian gave three leaps for joy. The cross had freed him.

“Come on I will take you to Mr Interpreter’s house.”

That’s where Christian discovered clues to help him on his journey.

Devotions: It Didn't Really Matter

Share this healthy attitude with your Sunday School, Bible Study and Kids Club children.

The Kids from OUR Church had a really hard project.
Their leader Pastor Stone told them to go out and find a practical way to be servants.
“I want you to be Jesus in the city for the next two hours,” he said.

“If Jesus were here, what would he do?”

Figure out how he would help people.”
Two hours later the kids returned to the pastor’s living room to report on their work.

..they had gone to THE OTHER Church to ask the pastor if he knew someone who needed help.
The pastor sent them to the home of an elderly woman who needed yard work done.
There, for two hours, they mowed grass, raked the yard and trimmed hedges.

When they were ready to leave, the woman called the group together and thanked them for their hard work.

“I don’t know how I would get along without you,” she told them.
“You kids at THE OTHER Church are always coming to my rescue.”

“THE OTHER Church!” exclaimed Pastor Stone.
“I sure hope you told her you were from OUR Church.”
“No. we didn’t.” the kids said.
“We didn’t think it mattered.”

These kids understood more than their pastor.
Did you?

OUR CHURCH kids knew to give praise and glory to God
- not to use it for their own ‘good name.’

Bible Study: An Angry Brother

Share this scripture with your Sunday School, Bible Study and Devotions group.

Jealousy causes the first murder

Cain and Abel were brothers they were sons of Adam and Eve.
Cain was a farmer who raised grain and fruit in the fields and Abel raised animals and took care of a flock of sheep

They decided to pray and bring gifts to God.

They burned them on an altar of stones to show that the gifts were for God.
Cain brought grain and Abel a sheep but Cain knew that he did not please God.

God reminded Cain that the death of an animal was required for sacrifice.

Cain did not listen to God.

He was angry and sulking.

Abel did what was right but Cain was jealous of his brother.

Cain knew what was the right thing to do but he refused to obey God.
He went his own way and blamed Abel.
When they were in the field together he attacked his brother and killed him.
As punishment, God cursed Cain and he was put out of God’s presence.

Bible Study :Redeem

Share this important scriptural message with those in your Bible Study, Devotions and Sunday School class.

God will buy us back: Redeem

Adam and Eve believed Satan’s lie and they disobeyed God.
Then they lost God’s Presence. So God planned to send Jesus to get it back – redeem.

Genesis 3:15
14The Lord God said to the snake,
“Because you did this, a curse will be put on you….

15 I will make you and the woman enemies to each other.
Your descendants and her descendants will be enemies.
Her child (Jesus) will crush your head.
And you (Satan) will bite his heel.”

God said to Satan (disguised as the snake), “You will be an enemy to everyone born after this.”
The child (Jesus) will crush Satan’s head.

When Jesus died on the cross, Satan’s power over us was broken. -his headship gone.

Satan still tries to trick us but God in us is greater. Satan will bite Jesus’ heel.

Satan’s influence caused Jesus death but Jesus lives again by God’s power— like a bite on the heel.
