Sunday School: Power

Share the secret of Jesus ' power with your Sunday School, Devotions and Bible study group.

Here is a photograph of that area today.

Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness or Judean desert.
Because he followed God’s word and not Satan’s advice he left the desert strong in God’s power.
Everyone noticed.

Kids Club: Saved!

Share Eric's brave story with your Devotional, Bible Study and Sunday School group.

Even though he was scared Eric persuaded a workman with a cart to help him rescue the wounded man.

That night in a tumble-down Chinese inn the two men rested, Eric remembered the Bible verse,
Luke 16;10
Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones.

When they reached the wounded man the next day, they lifted him onto the cart and began the trip to safety.

Then as they carefully led the swaying creaking cart along the rough track miraculously protected from the soldiers all around they heard of another seriously injured man.

This man had a terrible gash in his head.

The attackers thought he was dead.

Eric took both men in the cart 18 miles to the hospital.

One man lived and he became a Christian.

Kids Club: Danger

Share Eric Liddell's bravery with the young people of your Kids Club, Sunday School and Bible study.

Eric decided to tell the people about Jesus.
He travelled many miles in rugged conditions; sometime on a bicycle and sometimes walking.

On one occasion there was wild fighting between the Japanese and the Chinese.
Eric heard that there was a wounded man dying in a derelict temple and no one had the courage to go and help him.

They all thought they would be killed too.
Even though he was scared Eric persuaded a workman with a cart to help him rescue the wounded man.

Kids Club:God Speaks to Eric Liddell

This is a message of encouragement for your Bible study, Sunday School and Kids Club students.

God speaks to Eric Liddell - the Flying Scotsman

Eric was the athlete who refused to run on a Sunday in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris but who later won the gold medal and created a world record in the 400 metres.

Even though he was a science teacher and could have travelled the world and lived comfortably Eric decided to be a missionary for God in China.

People from his church in Scotland supported and prayed for him.

For a few years Eric taught science at a college in Tientsin and then he decided to tell the people about Jesus.
He travelled many miles in rugged conditions; sometime on a bicycle and sometimes walking.

Kids Club: True Story

Share this truth with your Sunday School, Kids Club and Bible Study scholars.

Read about the Berlin Wall:
How many years were people shut up behind the wall in Germany?

What words in the Bible verse prayer say “no more killing?”

Can you think of something that you could pray about?

The Berlin Wall was a large dividing wall 95 km long and 3.6 metres high .

In places it had barbed wire on top to stop people escaping.

Lots of people tried to escape and many were killed.

The wall kept people and families separated from 1961 until 1989.
This is a photo of Dick Eastman praying ,
“Peace, peace to him that is far off and him that is near.” Isaiah 55:19

He went from Australia to Germany especially to pray in 1988
and the next year the wall came down….. People on the other side were free.

Bible Study: God's Work

Share this message with your Sunday School, Kids Club and Bible study.
God’s Word does His work in the world.
It works for us if we use it too.
Notice these verses….Hebrews 3: 1, 4:14
..consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest ….Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Confession means “to say.”
Jesus takes the words we say to God.
Then the Lord said ...I am ready to perform my word.
Jeremiah 1:12 (NKJV)

Sunday school: Jesus' Response

Help your Sunday School, and Bible Study scholars to realise that Jesus faced difficulties and followed God's way.
The final idea of Satan’s was to get Jesus to jump off the top of the temple and force God to rescue him.
Jesus knew that was testing God. Luke 4:1-13

Jesus didn’t take any of Satan’s bad advice

When Jesus came out of the desert God’s power was mighty on him.

Bible Study: Jesus' Temptation

Use these pages to support your Sunday School, Bible Study and Kids Club.

Satan tried for 40 days to get Jesus to go his way.

But Jesus answered with God’s words in the Bible every time.

In the end Satan gave up and went away.

Jesus knew Satan’s tricks. He said:
He comes to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10

Jesus was thinking about God’s plan for 40 days in the desert—there was no food but he had to think it through. Satan knew Jesus was hungry and told him to use God’s power to turn stones into bread.

After that Satan said, “Worship me and I’ll give you all the kingdoms of the world.” But Jesus worshipped God. He knew Satan’s way would be bad.

Sunday School: Jesus the Boy

Show this illustration to your scholars in Kids Club, Bible study and Sunday School.

Jesus went to a school like this one in the picture and he learned to memorise whole chapters of the Bible.

He also had to discuss it with his teachers so that he would properly understand it.
