The Shining Ones took Christian and Hopeful to the Gate. “You will be given new clothes and
welcomed by the King of Glory,” they said.

Then the King’s trumpeters made a great sound, the bells of the City rang and Christian and Hopeful heard the words “Enter into the joy of the Lord.”

Christian and Hopeful will live forever in the wonderful City with God.

Ice cores in Greenland are used for dating in the belief that layers were laid down over many tens of thousands of years.

Yet Glacial build up supposed to take long time periods –thousands of years for just a few metres – happened in 46 years.

Sunday School: Planes Discovered

After 40 years they returned to try to salvage the planes.

They planned to brush the snow off but they couldn’t find them.

After a radar search and more trips to Greenland at last they found them hidden deep below the ice -75 metres.

The P-17 bombers were too crushed under the weight of the ice to save but the 8 ton P-38’s were in superb condition.

They made an icy cave by melting the ice with hot water flowing through copper coils.

It took weeks. The planes were dismantled, the parts were collected by
helicopter and taken to the U.S. for restoration.

The planes under the ice were in exactly the same pattern in which they had landed -except they had been moved (by glacial flow) three miles from their original location!
These fast natural processes fit perfectly with God’s timing.

Planes like these World War 11 bombers had to crash land on the ice in Greenland when they ran out of fuel in bad weather.
With their landing gear up they made the emergency landing.
The pilots were rescued by dog sled 9 days later.

Devotions:Escape

This story from Pilgrim's Progress has special meaning for your Sunday School, Devotions and Bible Study group.

Christian and Hopeful should not have left the safety of the straight and narrow path.

The giant grabbed them, beat them cruelly and shut them up in his dark dungeon.
“What will we do?” they asked one another when the giant had left.

They began to pray until the morning light came.

Then Christian stood up, amazed, “How silly I am,” he said.
“I have a key called Promise, which will undo any lock!”
So Christian took the key and tried it in the dungeon door and it immediately flew open!

Joyfully they burst out and hurried to the Delightful Mountains where they could see the Heavenly city in the distance.

The shepherds welcomed them.
