Flatterer said he would show Christian and Hopeful the way but he deceived them and they were tangled up in a terrible net. They couldn’t move.
They were grateful to be rescued by two men in shining clothes who told them they must now cross a deep river.

There was no bridge but it was the only way to the gate of the Heavenly City .

As they went into the deep water Christian began to sink and he called ”I don’t think I will make it.
