Devotions: An Agreement in Blood

In the New Testament, Jesus’ sacrifice of His own life blood blotted out our sins forever.

However like the blood on the door posts this has to be ‘made to work’ by our faith.

Then Jesus blood cancels out our sins and provides a hedge of protection from the effects of being in a sin dominated world.

Devotions: The Dark Story

The ’dark’ story ~~~~
It happened in a new area with lots of Australian bush.
Sally was walking towards the valley at night fall. It became dark very quickly and there was an eeriness that was frightening. Sally prayed!

Then there was a firm pressure against her leg and looking down there was a friendly dog gazing at her. It was good to have company, even if it was a dog. She felt safe, somehow. The walk along the track into the darkness was not so scary with the dog’s warm body. Then unexpectedly they came into the light. The dog moved a little. When Sally looked down ~ suddenly it was gone.
Sally knew it was God’s answer to her prayer.

How is your heart towards God?
Sometimes our attitude towards God is cooperative, soft as melted butter in the sunlight. At other times our heart is as hard and stiff as cheese left in the same sun.
Butter and cheese almost the same but a very different reaction.

Are you hard in your heat towards God like dried up old cheese? Or
are you soft, pliable and ready for God to change you into the champion He has planned?

Devotions: Child Wisdom

A tired mother to her family: I do feel weak tonight.”

Her four year old: When you are weak Jesus is strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10 says “My (God’s) kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” God’s Word Translation

And so He is. It is when we are weak that God has the opportunity to show us His strength.

One evening mother was serving out dinner for the family

Mother: Don’t ask questions while I’m serving out the dinner. I can’t concentrate.

Son: If you ask anything in Jesus name, it will be done for you. Mum, notice it says, ‘If, you remain in me and if, my words remain in you’. It all depends on the little word, ‘if’.

[The boy was telling his mother about a Bible verse John 15:7 that says
“If you remain in me and My words remain in you, then you will ask for anything you wish and you shall have it”]

Mother’s thoughts: I can’t find that book. I wish children wouldn’t pray for impossible things.

So it is when we let the Holy Spirit guide us;
