Kids Group:Another Missionary

Share these human stories of Christian struggle with your Sunday School, Kids Group and Bible Study.

C.T. Studd went to China in 1885 before Eric Liddell.
Eric had been born in China to missionary parents.
C.T. grew up in a very privileged home.
Perhaps it was even harder for him.
Both men gave all their strength and everything they owned.

These pictures show how it might have been for C.T. and his six companions.

Bible Study: Missionaries to China

Share this message with your Kids Group, Sunday School and Bible study young people.

Even before Eric Liddell went to China other Christians shared the truth about Jesus in that country.

C.T. Studd was another enthusiast for the message of Jesus. The picture is of his call to obey Jesus
He went to China in 1885 as a missionary
.

Notice that he knew Hudson Taylor, Jim’s grandfather.
Jim was one of the boys in the prisoner of war camp with Eric Liddell.
Because of their efforts there are many thousands of Christians in China today. Christians in China don’t have much freedom to share their beliefs but many are serious about their faith in Jesus.

Sunday School:Eric Liddell conclusion

Share this history information with your Sunday School, Kids group and Bible Study.
Eric Liddell 1902 –1945

During World War 11 Eric and many people who lived and worked in China were put into crowded prisoner of war camps.

None of us will ever forget this man who was totally committed to putting God first.
A man whose humble life combined muscular Christianity with radiant godliness.

What was his secret?
He unreservedly committed his life to Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord.
That friendship meant everything to him.

By the flickering light of a peanut oil lamp early each morning he and a room-mate in the men’s cramped dormitory studied the Bible and talked with God for an hour every day.

Even before Eric went to China other Christians shared the truth about Jesus in that country.

Because of their efforts there are many thousands of Christians in China today.
