Some times Eric spoke to young people about his trust in Jesus. Although he was not a great speaker everyone who heard his slow clear words knew that God was very important to him.
Many decided to follow his example.

Eric played rugby and cricket and loved to run.

Eric was an unusual sprinter.
He ran with his head tilted toward the skies,
his knees thrust upward to his chin.
He always shook hands with each competitor.
