Sunday School: Eric Liddell

Eric was only five years old when he started boarding school.
It was a live-in school for children whose parents were missionaries and worked in other countries to tell people about Jesus.

Eric had been born in China in 1902 where his parents lived but now he had to go to school with his older brother Robert who was eight.

Eric’s mum and little sister went back to China.

People said he was a shy boy who stayed a lot with his brother but they noticed that he always sat quietly and read his Bible before breakfast.

The teachers said, “He was entirely without vanity.”
