Joseph married Mary and Jesus was their son.
At the Passover Celebration it was customary for adults to visit the Temple in Jerusalem.
It was about three days walk from his Nazareth home to the city of Jerusalem. Jesus went to the temple when he was aged twelve.
That year Jesus’ parents thought they’d lost him in the big city but he was asking questions of the teachers in the temple.
They were very impressed at his understanding of God.
Jesus told his parents that he knew that he must do what his Father God wanted him to do.
