Bible Study: Esther

This powerful story for your Bible Study, Sunday School or Devotionsl group is an inspiration to all God's people.

Born ‘for such a time as this’

Esther lived in Persia. Many Jews were taken to Persia when it conquered Israel.
Esther was very beautiful and the king chose her to be his queen. But he did not know Esther was a Jew.
An evil advisor named Haman worked for the king. He advised a law that on a certain day anyone could kill Jews and take their land. When Esther heard about it she wouldn’t eat any food for three days and she prayed to God. She thought of all the lovely people who might be killed.

She wanted to talk to the king but he had been busy for 30 days and she hadn’t seen him at all. The law said if she visited him unexpectedly she would be killed—
unless the king wanted to change his mind.
Esther knew she was born to help at this terrible time.

So she bravely risked death and went to see the king.
He was not cross.

He said the law could not be changed but he had evil Haman killed.

He made a new law allowing Jews to defend themselves.

That’s how Esther saved the Jews.

Is God asking you to do something that only you can do?
