Devotional: God's Promise

Add this to your Bible Study and Sunday School lessons.
It is a truth that every student can claim for themselves.

God’s Promise: “I will be with you.”

Moses believed God would help him in every problem.

While Moses was helping the people escape, the cruel king of Egypt sent his armies after them. They were trapped beside a deep, dangerous sea.

Moses knew they could drown but he held out his shepherd’s stick and God sent winds that blew a path through the water.
Moses led the way and they all followed.
The enemy soldiers chased them but when the people were safely across God let the waters flow back and the attacking soldiers with horses and chariots were drowned.

Then the people grumbled because they wanted nice food.
They even thought they wanted to be slaves again but....
God sent them special food - manna.
It was on the ground like dew in the morning and tasted like a honey wafer.
You could just collect what you wanted.

God also sent a cloud to guide them by day and a pillar of fire which seemed to burn in the sky at night.
It was a sign of His Presence - His promise.
HE WAS WITH THEM.
