Devotions: Sin Blotted Out
A Clean Slate! He “blotted it out”
For this is my blood of the new
testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Matthew 26:28)
Jesus death and resurrection provided for every
believer freedom from the curse of sin and death.
The O.T. sacrifice of the blood of animals was “to cover over” (atone for) or temporarily hide sin.
Under the New Covenant the blood of Jesus remitted or wiped away our sin as if it never was.
Colossians 2:14 says, “blotted it out.”
The blood of Jesus destroyed it.
Now when we confess our sins, God sees us clean.
