Sunday School: The Mother Asked

A Sociology professor in the American mid-west was to address a college speech night to emphasize the colleges religious connections.

During the evening lecture a woman came down the isle carrying her child in her arms. The child was crippled and in callipers.

“What do you want?” he asked.
“God told me to come,” she replied, you are supposed to heal my child.”

At the professor’s obvious dismay the college chaplain volunteered
assistance, announcing to the audience that those without faith for the child’s healing should leave.

The professor was greatly relieved when he was left with only the chaplain and five “faith” kids who proceeded to pray with enthusiasm.

In the midst of the prayers an Awesome presence touched the Group and they stopped praying.

It was disappointing that there was no change in the child. He was not healed.
