Devotions:Seeking hope from faith in Christ

In the aftermath of the massacre at Columbine High School, Littleton,
U.S.A. a team of grief counsellors arrived to help the survivors deal with their anguish.
But most young people had turned to the church.
Patrick Simington joined his friends for a memorial service at the Light of the World Roman Catholic Church which had lost four young members.
Patrick’s mother told the Washington Times that what is really helping him get through this crisis “is his faith. “

Columbine student Lauren Johnson was encouraged by her parents to seek out a professional counsellor.
Instead she turned to the staff at West Bowles Community Church
telling reporters, “I just like it better this way.” She added, “It seemed like most of the kids from school were there.”

The action of the kids in Littleton is further proof that we can know no peace until we find it in Christ.
