Bible Study: Spirit Expressions

Many examples of the Spirit’s activity are found in the Old Testament.
He is described in a series of unusual images which help us begin to grasp his character and appreciate his activities.

Wind
Genesis 8:1; Exodus 10:13; Job 21:18;
Ps. 35:5; Ezekiel 37:9; Amos 4:13
The Spirit is a hurricane whom we cannot
control or predict. He is an invading force who transforms wherever he blows.
He is God’s power in action.

Breath
Ezekiel 37:1-14
The Spirit is the breath without which men and women are spiritually dead.
